Perhaps the best way of using these booths is along side an amazing backdrop so we now have as part of our expanding collection a new open style booth and several new backdrops. Here at Selfie Box Ireland we simply adore Hallowe’en (primarily because the guests provide their very own props!).

But the question that we are looking to answer is, where and when does Hallowe’en originate from, as it is such a massive part of Irish culture we thought it would be good to understand the fact and fiction behind this superstitious night!

“Straddling the line between fall and winter, plenty and paucity, life and death, Halloween is a time of celebration and superstition. It is thought to have originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off roaming ghosts.

Halloween’s origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-in). The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in the area that is now Ireland, the United Kingdom and northern France, celebrated their new year on November 1. This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred.”*

So there we have it, Hallowe’en is a festival created by the Celts who loved getting their picture taken in the Selfie Box so much that they dedicated their new year around hiring a Photo Booth to help capture their memories. The fantastic Catherine hit massive milestone, turning 80 and showing us all how it should be done! Catherine was the life and soul of the party, making the most of every minute. The Selfie Box team were extremely impressed with her energy, charisma and moves on the dancefloor.

The fabulous 1950’s themed party was held in the Merrion Cricket Club on Anglesea Road, Co. Dublin. As the droves of glamourous people arrived, the ladies were notably glamourous in their fantastic dresses and the Selfie Box team saw a number of fab 50's styles, from glam rock chick to polka-dot tutu. The guests all looked fantastic and really knew how to have a good time, the Selfie Box Ireland photo booth went down an absolute storm with the guests and everyone made the very most of the night and celebrated in style with Catherine.

As Elvis sang to the rocking guests, Catherine and co. took to the dancefloor to shake a leg and flocked to the Selfie Box Ireland photo booth like a duck takes to water. What a fantastic night it was; one not to be forgotten with some great group pictures taken to help seal those memories for years to come.

The Selfie Box Ireland team want to thank all of the lovely ladies, gentlemen and children who made Catherine’s 80th one to remember, for everyone involved and for the Selfie Box Ireland team.

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is the most important event in the traditional Irish music calendar. A unique and welcoming festival of the best of traditional arts that offers a wide range of activities to be enjoyed by all.
In the middle of the scenic village of Ennis hosting a wonderful customer party was Willow Clothes Boutique. Selfie Box Ireland was on hand to keep the guests entertained over the evening
Owner Jean McCabe came to Selfie Box with a wonderful idea to stand out in a week long festivities, Flip Books!! Check out a video below
Which went down a storm, the idea of having a personalised flip book made there and then on the spot was a huge success with all the guests of the party.
The customers were treated to nibbles, drinks a silent disco and their very own personal flip books provided by us here at Selfie Box Ireland.

The 10th annual Sean Kelly tour of Waterford took place throughout Waterford and ended in the picturesque town of Dungarvan, to help mark this fantastic event Selfie Box Ireland supplied each of the 5,000 cyclists with a complimentary souvenir "Selfie" print-out throughout the day!

The organisers, crew, stewards, family, friends and of course participants made the day a fantastic event which will be one to carry on with them for years to come! The spirits of everyone involved couldn't be dampened by the dreary weather which loomed above, as the rain came down and the wind prevailed so too did the spirits of the cyclists. 

One by one the cyclists from each three courses came in their droves, greeted by food, drink and the proud faces of their loved ones. As the cyclists came Selfie Box Ireland were very proud to welcome all of those involved into our Photo Booth to create their very own Sean Kelly Selfie memoir to mark the 10th anniversary.

The Selfie Box Ireland team were on-hand to upload live Facebook uploads to the Sean Kelly Tour of Waterford Facebook Page, in addition a number of photographers snapped the events of the day.

Participants themselves took, to creating their own montage of photos and videos of the fantastic cycle, one in particular, created by Maurice Kavanagh shows the tour in a real-time view and can be viewed below.

Overall the event was a fantastic anniversary tour and one I think Sean Kelly would be proud of!

So, the dust has settled, it's been three days since #SelfieBoxIreland were at the #GlitznPiecesLaunch in Sam's Bar, Dawson Street! We have had time to chill and reflect on the launch party.. and what a Launch party it was!

Grace & Ellen, the proud owners of the Irish owned online boutique www.Glitznpieces.com, are a duo to reckoned with, going from strength to strength over the past two years and winning numerous accolades including their most recent from Xposé. The Girls are doing an amazing job and at only 21 and in their third year of college we predict they are destined for great things.

The girls invited myself (Kris) and Zarah along to the launch party, to set up our Photo Booth, take some snaps in the Selfie Box and network with with some fantastic influential bloggers, family & friends and we were more than happy to oblige!  

The event ran super smoothly thanks to Grace, Ellen and the lovely trio from Dundalk IT in their final year studying PR & Marketing. We can't forget to mention the lovely staff at www.samsbar.ie who were very welcoming and helped with anything we needed! 

#SelfieBoxIreland has been getting some great publicity from the event all thanks to the lovely people we had the opportunity to network with, the Selfie Box Photo Booth went down a massive hit, we are definitely looking forward to the next launch party we are invited to where we get to show off Selfie Box Ireland!!

Well, here it is, the most Irish Day of the year! Celebrated on an international scale, from Newfoundland, Canada to Paris, France and every where in between Paddy's Day is a celebration of the death of St.Patrick - the patron Saint of Ireland.

Being Irish is something very special to us all at Selfie Box Ireland, it spurs an affectionate patriotism for us and makes us proud to be one of the most widely dispersed nationalities in the world!

There is something truly special about being a native Irishman (and woman) that only someone born and raised on the Emerald Isle can understand - the craic agus ceol, the crisp sambo's, Irish Mammy's and of course TEA!! and for that Selfie Box Ireland would like to wish every Irishman (and woman) near and far a very happy Paddy's Day!
